ChildServe has an opening for a Facility Safety and Security Specialist to oversee the organizational staff and facility safety and security programs. This team member will ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, ensure facilities are inspected regularly, and required documentation is completed and organized.
What You'll Do
Lead Staff and Facility Safety Programs
+ Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, aligning policies and processes, and advising management on needed or recommended actions. Includes but is not limited to OSHA, NFPA Life Safety, and CARF accreditation.
+ Be an active member and representative of the organizational Safety Council. This group will initiate and lead research and recommendations of best practices, develop cost-effective recommendations and solutions as appropriate, and prioritize and implement improvement initiatives.
+ Partner with the Human Resources team to manage and respond to work comp and staff injuries, the Facilities Team for construction projects and maintenance, and support other service leaders throughout the organization.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of programs by reviewing processes, collecting and assessing data, and completing quality reviews. Identify and address safety and security risks within the organization and develop and implement action plans to address risks. Lead work teams and manage projects as necessary to achieve goals.
+ Report on results to the group and prepare effective reporting to the oversight group (senior leaders).
Operational Oversight
+ Lead safety-related operations in partnership with Human Resources and Facilities teams.
+ Develop and enhance policies, ensure processes are efficient and documented, coordinate drills, facilitate facility safety and security inspections, lead staff education/training initiatives and communications, and complete related tasks.
Emergency Preparedness Planning
+ Lead proactive organizational EPP. Enhance the existing framework to ensure a coordinated organizational approach. Work with subject matter experts within each service to organize consistency across areas. Coordinate emergency manuals and materials across locations.
Emergency Response
+ Lead reactive emergency response initiatives related to staff safety. Develop and document specific protocols building on existing processes.
+ Partner with Human Resources, Facilities, and Communications to ensure organizational coordination to effectively manage emergencies related to facility security and staff safety.
+ Develop relationships with community government emergency response agencies to ensure external communication is received and responded to appropriately.
What You'll Need
+ Bachelors degree, preferred. A combination of relevant experience and coursework will also be considered.
+ Three years of experience in corporate safety, security, and/or facilities (healthcare preferred).
+ Experience with NFPA Life Safety Code and OSHA healthcare requirements, facility security protocol, and emergency preparedness / business continuity planning, preferred.
+ NFPA or OSHA certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 1 year post-hire.
+ Ability to be a part of the Facilities Support on call rotation which will consist of being on call 1 week approximately every 4-6 weeks.
+ Proficient use of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
+ Ability to exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe business.
+ Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
