Facilities Superintendent
**JOB SUMMARY** Oversee maintenance, operations and improvements of GSI facilities. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operations of the facilities department, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all systems and services. + Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facility equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other essential systems. + Perform basic carpentry repairs, installations and improvements. + Monitor and manage facility expenses, budgets, and contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective operations. + Conduct regular inspections of facilities, identify maintenance needs, and coordinate repairs and improvements. + Maintain grounds of the facility. + Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. + Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, finance, and human resources, to support facility-related needs. + Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in facility management, implementing innovative practices when appropriate. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Proven experience (5+ years) in facility management, construction, or a similar role. + Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems. + Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. + Knowledge of regulatory compliance and occupational health and safety standards. + Must be available to report to the office in the event of an emergency or critical systems outage.
