Facilities Supervisor

Position Overview:

Coordinates and monitors daily operations of facility plant operations and maintenance, including prioritization of requests, training of staff, and preventive maintenance functions. May perform basic to complex duties required to operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment and systems within and throughout facility buildings and grounds.

Job Description:

Interprets blueprints and technical manuals and other documentation to monitor and assist staff activity to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems to include but not limited to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, boiler and steam systems, normal and emergency power distribution equipment, mechanical systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, nurse call, fire protection and detection systems, security systems and other equipment and systems.

Monitors and coordinates staff activity to perform the daily operations of mechanical and electrical systems including but not limited to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, boiler and steam systems, normal and emergency power distribution equipment, mechanical systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, nurse call, fire protection and detection systems, security systems and other equipment and systems. Continuously checks for integrity of systems and equipment, initiating repairs as needed. May monitor high pressure boiler operation.

Monitors department forms for operations, maintenance and emergency response activity to ensure compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction AHJ’s such as California Department of Public Health, TJC (The Joint Commission), Local and State Fire Marshal

Provides situational leadership to responds and resolve complex emergency conditions on mechanical and electrical systems to include but not limited to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, boiler and steam systems, normal and emergency power distribution equipment, mechanical systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, nurse call, fire protection and detection systems, security systems and other equipment and systems. Analyzes emergency events and provides reports to leadership.

Maintains personnel files and records, audits timecards and prepares statistical and operating reports, manages employee schedules.

Schedules, monitors and coordinates staff activity to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to include but not limited to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, boiler and steam systems, normal and emergency power distribution equipment, mechanical systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, generators, nurse call, fire protection and detection systems, security systems and other equipment and systems.

Monitors water treatment activity for quality. May monitor maintenance activity related to high pressure boiler systems.


EDUCATION:

HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years of recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge and ability to operate shop tools, stationary and portable shop tools.
Understanding of refrigeration, hydraulics, computers, and basic electrical test equipment.
Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
Works with electrical, mechanical and other complex systems.
Must be able to prioritize work and complete tasks independently without supervision.
