The Facilities Technician is responsible for repair, upkeep, and oversight of the housekeeping and grounds/landscaper contractors at the Collagen Manufacturing Center (CMC). The Facilities Technician ensures that all Facilities protect the identity, quality, durability, reliability, safety, and effectiveness of medical devices and, thereby, protect patient safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To succeed in this role, the Facilities Technician is responsible for:
Safety - Ensures that all team members receive training from Integra LifeSciences’ Safety department, and are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits, practices, and awareness. Initiates accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained. Reviews MSDS in advance of work, and where required.Quality - Responsible for the team’s compliance and meeting the quality standards as defined by Integra’s SOPs, GMPs, Global Quality Standards, local procedures, where applicable. Plays an active role in Root Cause Analyses and in the resolution of Deviation, Non-Conformances, CAPAs, and Change Controls, as applicable and as able.Manage People Effectively – Interfaces with other Maintenance staff, managers and operators in manufacturing and product development.Facilities Technician Excellence -Imparts a culture of 6S and continuous improvement in all Facilities activities.Performs light plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs in the offices and manufacturing spaces, where required.Document Facilities work on batch records or room logs to cross reference with work tickets, where required.Oversees the work of the custodial contractor ensuring that office, lunchroom, restroom, and other related spaces are clean and well stocked.Oversees the work of landscapers and grounds crews ensuring that lawns are maintained and cut, trash is removed, sidewalks and truck docks are clear, snow is removed, and that the outsides of buildings are kept orderly.Checks hazardous waste storage areas for being secure, free of trash, and without leaks or odors. Notify the Facilities Supervisor immediately if leaks or odors are observed.Informs the Maintenance Supervisor of opportunities for continuous improvement.Must be available to work during July and December shutdowns.Actively participates in cross-functional teams addressing Deviations, Non-Conformances, and CAPAs, as required.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
