Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)                                                            

Department: Facilities / Fuel Cell Systems Engineering / Spokane

Position Summary
The Facilities Technician will ensure that receiving and shared put away processes are completed timely and with the highest quality standards. He/she will be responsible for receiving areas while also driving process improvements to departmental functions. Plug and its employees must remain vigilant to meet delivery commitments as well as maintain an effective flow of materials as needed. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a demonstrated track record of working in warehousing and facilities environment. This individual must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the Spokane facilities.


Core Duties and Responsibilities

Support 5S and safety objectives.Establish metrics related to quality and throughput.Sort and order inbound service part returns, and process returns to appropriate channelsSupport Engineering and IT build by ensuring material is readily available for shipment.Set a tone for work quality, accountability, and efficiency; understand quality issues affecting processes and respond appropriately to decrease quality issuesMaintain Shipping and Receiving, and other warehousing activities.  Communicate when material has arrived or has shipped to appropriate people.Develop partnerships with engineering, planning, procurement and other internal team members; work to support mutual goals and add value to those functions.Complete a daily facility walk through to ensure a safe environment.Coordinate with Contractors or Landlord facility items that may need to be repaired.Provide quotes to Facilities Manager to approve/ decline repairs costs.Always adhere to safety standards, while enforcing safe work habits with all team members; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety guidelines.Provide monthly Fire Extinguisher inspections, communicate any concerns.Maintain a safe environment for all employees at the facility.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma required; associates or vocational degree preferred.  Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience within a warehouse/logistics/facilities function; preferably as part of a warehouse environment.Supervisory experience with a successful track record of leading a team.Strong leadership skills include daily communications with the team and with internal customers.Excellent understanding of material movements, storage techniques, pick processes, and use of systems and databases to manage materials.Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a must; Avante experience preferred.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.Uncompromising dedication to quality.Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.Excellent follow-through.Must be driven and self-motivated.

Pay Rate:

$23.00 - $33.00
