Job Title:  Facilities Technician


Location: American Fork

 

Overview: We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Facilities Technician to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of our clinic facilities, encompassing standard commercial building repairs including but not limited to minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, flooring, locks and etc. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, prioritize safety, have the ability to hold certifications such as OSHA 10 and CPO (Certified Pool Operator), with the ability to provide their own safe and reliable transportation for traveling between our network of buildings. Must be willing and able to perform after-hours work as requested.


Responsibilities:


Perform Facilities maintenance across multiple clinic locations. Execute maintenance tasks such as: painting, drywall repair, ceiling tile replacement, door hardware repairs, carpentry, plumbing and minor electrical work and other standard building repair and maintenance as directed by Facilities staff and according to clinic standards. Utilize all tools and equipment effectively and safely for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance tasks related to architectural systems and components. Have the ability and ensure compliance with ladder safety protocols and safe work practices when working at heights on ladders or on rooftops. Ability to lift and move large or awkward objects safely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment. Drive between clinic locations to perform maintenance tasks, possessing a valid driver's license, maintaining a clean driving record, and having dependable transportation. Maintain and operate pool facilities as a Certified Pool Operator, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Independently prioritize and respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies from Facilities staff and the Facilities Work Order System, prioritizing tasks to minimize disruption to clinic operations which may include after-hours work. As directed by Facilities staff, it may be necessary to coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to budget constraints. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems, documenting repairs, inspections, and equipment history. Adhere to health and safety regulations, building codes, and clinic policies relevant to facilities maintenance, including OSHA standards.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in a healthcare or commercial environment. Proficiency in performing architectural maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, ceiling tile replacement, door hardware repairs, minor carpentry work and other building maintenance or any other tasks as directed by the Facilities staff. Specific tool knowledge and ability to use them safely, including power tools, hand tools, and all other tools related to commercial building maintenance. Must possess own common hand and power tools needed for the maintenance and care of commercial buildings. Certifications in OSHA 10 and Pool Operator will be required upon hiring. Familiarity with ladder safety protocols and safe practices for working at heights. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effectively managing time, project costs and tasks to meet deadlines, including after-hours work. Demonstrated skills at reading and interpreting technical documentation and blueprints. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Experience and willingness to work in and outside all parts of the clinic and in various conditions with exposure to extreme ranges of temperature and in both sterile and dirty conditions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clinic staff, management, and external contractors. Including the ability to effectively email, text and learn and operate all digital work-order tracking tools such as Smartsheet and Voxer. Dependable transportation with a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Flexibility to work across multiple locations and respond to after-hours work orders and emergencies as required.
