Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Facilities Technician - Weekend Shift. The hours are Friday through Sunday from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. The rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. The weekend shift is eligible for 40 hours of pay for 36 hours worked. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is currently seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance and Facilities Technician will support the OPEX and EHS departments by helping to drive continuous improvement in the electrical assembly operations. This achieved by maintaining the facility and production equipment on its best working condition, completing PMs and minimizing downtime. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, including but not limited to lifts, lift tables, cranes, workstations, fans, motors, gates, doors, pumps, pressure vessels.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams such as electrical, hydraulic schematics and PLCs.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment using a systematic process to identify root cause (electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC).
• Mechanical and general facilities repairs, painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, welding, roofing.
• Support daily plant operations through effective troubleshooting and repair of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control system adhering to all policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Maximize equipment reliability by effectively performing assigned work orders and PMs. Ensure complete and effective repairs. Proactively initiate work orders based on PM observations.
• Complete work on Continuous Improvement activities related to the facility as needed (5S+, TPM, Set Up Reduction, etc.)
• Assist with outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Complete/maintain maintenance logs and associated documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience in metal fabrication processes and equipment.
• Able to utilize hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics in troubleshooting scenarios.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Minimum of 1 year knowledge and experience in the electrical field with voltages from 24V to 480V.
• Minimum of 1 year of knowledge and experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, working with systems, reservoirs, pumps, valves, sensors, cylinders, piping, tubing, hoses, switches, and motors.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows-based software.
• No relocation is provided for this position, only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the El Paso, TX facility will be considered.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of five (5) year of' experience in the electrical or mechanical maintenance field.
• Program and maintain software in Ladder (PLC) Assembly, HMI systems and Basic languages.
• Strong electrical background and experience.
• Two-year technical degree or certification in either electronics, electrical power and controls, fluid power, HVAC or basic PLC programming.
• Journeymen or three (3) years of documented maintenance experience in an industrial electrical/mechanical trade.
• Licensed HVAC Technician, Plumber, and/or Electrician.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation.
• Familiarity with wastewater treatment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLC electronic controls
• Basic skills in reading, arithmetic and writing in English and Spanish.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Candidate must be able to travel outside of the continental United States including, but not limited to, the Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Canada
• Ability to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision to include work at varied heights using fall protection, permits, and other safety processes and procedures as required
Skills
• Proficiency with verbal and written communications.
• Must be a safety-conscious team player by having understanding with safety standards such as electrical safety, arc flash, and lock out/tag out (preferred knowledge of all OSHA work and safety rules).
• Advanced skills in one or more of the following: Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, PLC troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, and parts breakdowns.
• Strong organizational, presentation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format and work with all employees throughout plant.
• Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
• Dexterity for and ability to operate equipment, machinery, and computers (including Windows and MSOffice as well as industrial software)
• Familiarity with DC and AC power up to three phase 480 V.
