In this role you will:

Understand and support Smucker’s Safety Program policies and performing all work-related activities in a manner that complies with all safety policies and expectations.General plant maintenance to include general maintenance and repairs in Make, Pack or Ship as needed. Work may be performed from ground level to 25 feet in the air, in addition to working on platforms and catwalks up to 130 feet above ground. Working in tight and/or confined spaces would be expected.Performing daily boiler chemistry including Boiler Water, Condensate Water, Feed-water and Soft Water to determine the effectiveness of our chemical treatment program. Take necessary action to ensure adequate boiler protection from scaling, foaming and over all reliability.Performing daily, weekly and monthly checks/inspections on air compressors and air dryers to ensure proper operation.Performing preventative maintenance and inspections as required to maintain compliance with various regulatory and insurance organizations. This includes Fire Alarm System, Fire Protection System, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting and all related equipment. Observing boiler, air compressors and air dryers in operation for unusual activities, i.e. improper flow or movement. Listening to equipment for metal to metal contact, belt slippage, improperly moving bearings, etc.Performing daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance on all Make-up and Exhaust fans/blowers to ensure proper operation of the plant’s air management system. Make necessary repairs as needed. Performing all work necessary to repair machinery as a result of emergency breakdownsCleaning, maintaining and organizing inside and around plant utility equipment to keep area free and clear of obstructions, foreign material, threat of insect or rodent infestation. Includes walking roof areas and motor control centers.Other tasks as required to include plumbing, lighting, painting, landscaping, roof maintenance, fence/gate maintenance and general housekeeping

What We’re Looking For:

Journeyman level knowledge regarding electrical and control systems, power transmission systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation, and multi-craft maintenanceWorking a 5 day per week schedule on days including on-call rotation for off hours coverage with other utilities/facilities technicianSafely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & GMP’sIssue purchase orders for contractor work through Market Place systemCapable of leading and directing a crew of contractors in the execution of a job you have planned or assisted in planningBe an exemplary contributor to team driven projects and be a willing leader on the projects that you are suited to lead.A clear and effective communicator in verbal, written and meeting settingsMaintain and improve equipment through analysis of data, preventive maintenance procedures, predictive maintenance practices and reliability centered maintenance strategiesPossess the desire to advance and develop your own knowledge and skill setHaving the drive to hold your teammates accountable to the same level of expectation that you hold yourself

Selection Criteria (MUST):

Minimum 3 year multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environmentNo disciplinary action in the last 12 monthsNo work restrictions that prevent performing essentials functions of the roleAvailable to accommodate flexible work schedule to meet business needs

Selection Criteria (PREFERRED):Experience maintaining/trouble-shooting Boiler operationsExperience maintaining regulatory and facility protection systems (i.e. Fire Protection, Emergency Lighting, etc.)
