Facility Engineer

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Facility Engineer to join our team in our Dallas, TX market.

 

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for oversight and technical support as it relates to major maintenance and/or capital improvements to existing facilities; and engineering management for the design and construction of new facilities.    

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ongoing assessment of CWT facilities (primarily manufacturing/warehousing) from an infrastructure and operation perspective Development of a working plan to address short term and long-term service necessary to maintain appropriate operational capability at each CWT site/facility. Plan shall include but not be limited to cost estimate, basic scope description, timing, duration, required resources, and funding requirements. Development and maintenance of a database for each site/facility that captures relevant information Tracking and documentation of active and completed projects specific to site/facility Lead effort to prepare funding requests associated with major projects identified in working plan Lead/manage projects in working plan following standard PM protocol established by Engineering Dept. This shall include: project schedule, budget tracking, coordination meetings, communications, documentation, close-out, etc. Provide Technical and functional expertise to other engineers when projects involve facility improvements or modifications Establish support team of CWT site and project specific personnel when warranted.    

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite SAP knowledge and usage Regulatory awareness and basic understanding (EPA, OSHA, NPDES, etc.) Building Codes as well as local and county requirements Building systems including HVAC, security, electrical, communications (IT), plumbing and piping Fire Systems including FM Global and NFPA requirements Autodesk AutoCAD skills preferred Project and Construction Management expertise Manufacturing and Construction Safety & Environmental Health best practices and understanding/awareness of the requirements for projects

Equipment/Data Responsibilites:

Equipment Operated:

Standard office equipment including computers, phones, copier, etc. Familiarization and occasional use of common equipment such as multimeters, hand tools, etc. Auto or Truck

Data/Info Used (typical, but not limited to):

SAP/JDE cost data as well as ability to interface to submit requisitions for supplies, parts, vendor contracts, etc. Technical information regarding CWT sites, facilities, and production equipment to be found in project archives and/or at facility locations. Physical attributes associated with project tasks and execution – weights, volumes, dimensions, densities, rates, etc.

Materials Used: 

Various documents such as Contracts, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, drawings, data sheets, logs, etc. Reports that are both read as well as prepared/written Materials to support project justifications or proposals Regulatory and Code references

 

Interactions with Others: 

Company employees at all levels and disciplines (EHS, Engineering, R&D, HR, Operations, Finance, etc.) Various contractors, architects, engineering consultants Government agency representatives Vendors/suppliers

 

Work Environment/Time Worked:

Work Environment: Primarily an office setting with routine and extensive field exposure at CWT facilities across the United States on an as needed basis.  CWT facilities are typically manufacturing/warehouse operations.  Some assigned projects will entail outdoor activities (ex. roof replacement, new construction, etc.) and others may be in and around existing production areas. Time Worked: Primarily typical office hours (8 AM to 5 PM) as well as some amount of time earlier and later than the core hours to accommodate problem resolution, contractor work, troubleshooting, etc.  CWT facilities are dispersed across the US and relatively frequent, planned travel is an inherent component of this position. Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting < 70 lbs. Supervisory Responsibilities:  Will indirectly supervise the work of any assigned CWT technical personnel to specific projects and will oversee the activity of any outside contractors and vendors performing work at a given CCM site/facility.
