Facility Inspector – North Slope, AK

Pay Range: $50-55/hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Facility Inspector is responsible for the planning and inspection of piping as assigned by the Mistras Senior Inspector. They perform the piping walk-downs, identify inspection locations, and perform visual inspections as identified or requested by the client. Perform NDE as directed by the Mistras Senior Inspector. Provide oversight and support to the NDE crews performing NDE methods that would quantify internal and/or external corrosion damage.

The work schedule will be a rotational hitch of 21 days on followed by 21 days off. Daily work shifts will be 12 hours, including a paid 30-minute lunch break. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: 

Interact with the client and contractor personnel to align schedule requirements with business needs. Manage work packages for crew assignments. Perform NDE as directed by the Mistras Senior Inspector. Assist in radiography operations. Performing inspection location identification / piping walk-downs / visual inspections / CUI susceptible area identification as required. Manage PCMS data as required for work processes. Execute plans for completion of work assigned to facility area of responsibility. Submit and process change sheet requests as needed for proper data alignment. Flawless adherence to company and client procedures and policies. Ensure that Quality of assigned work is performed to the highest level for all area of control. Immediately report equipment malfunctions/damage to supervisor and/or MTE. Lead the team by flawless demonstration of Company’s HSSE policies. Maintain a Safety conscience work environment. Maintain compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures on the project. Effective communication with customer to ensure 100% customer satisfaction with overall project. Maintain exceptional HSE record.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

1 year experience performing API-570 Inspections 5 years experience performing NDE API 570, UTT II, RT II (profile), Rope Access certifications required Ability to read P&ID’s Ability to follow and draft standard piping isometric drawings Strong understanding of NDT techniques, applications and limitations Ability to prepare and review formal inspection reports Ability to provide mentoring and other feedback as necessary to personnel within AOR Experience working with an Inspection Data Management System (IDMS) Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel Exceptional safety record Team building capabilities Strong computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and trainable in “database” programs) Strong knowledge of process equipment Strong organizational skills

PREFERED ATTRIBUTES

Current API-510 & API-653 certifications Current level II NDT certifications in MT, PT and UTSW Rope Access III (Sprat or IRATA) AWS-CWI NACE – CIP level I or higher IRRSP / State Card Basic understanding of damage mechanisms associated with upstream operations

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (subzero temperatures) for extended periods of time Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking. Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces. Must wear required protective and safety equipment (cold weather gear, safety glasses, hard hats, etc.)
