Paying $23.83 an hour

 

Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

Job purpose

 

The Facilities Maintenance role is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties associated with Fire Prevention, Building Aesthetics, and NSF preparation and sustainment.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

The primary job duties and responsibilities are:

 

Completes Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Fire Prevention Checklist Items. (80% of the first 6 months 50% going forward)Performs cleaning of facility machines (internal and external), electrical cabinets and pumpsConducts floor maintenance and cleaningMaintains pit to reduce stock build-up for fire prevention and efficacyOrganizes and audits outside building condition (bone yard management)Manages and completes select painting assignments and minor repair (touch-ups)Completes documentation related to the task at handMaintains excellent housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work areaMaintains effective communication with operators and plant supervisionImmediately addresses and reports safety issues or hazardsMaintains excellent safety recordMaintains excellent attendance recordPerforms other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

Experience

 

Experience required:

At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment; including successful completion of jobs or similar activities.Demonstrated self-compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Skills

 

An individual must have the following skills in the Facilities Maintenance position:

Interpersonal skills.Detailed oriented.Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures and supplies.Effective communication skills.Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

 

Physical requirements

 

This position is located in a manufacturing location. Physical requirements will include but are not limited to:

Standing for lengthy periods of time (frequent)Sitting for extended periods of time (frequent)Climbing up/down stairs/ladders/platforms (occasional)Ability to work at different heights such as 30 - 35 in the air with scissors liftWorking in a manufacturing environment that includes periods of hot and cold weather, dust, noise above 85 dBA, occasional odors, and moving equipment (frequent)

 

Working conditions

 

An individual that works in the Facilities Maintenance position:

Must have a basic knowledge of hand tools and chemicals for sanitation and cleaning purposes.Must have electrical and mechanical experience.Must be able to stand and/kneel frequently and work in a manufacturing environment.Must be available on an on-call basis.

 

Education

 

High School Diploma or GED

Moorhead is located 233 miles northwest of Minneapolis, MN, and is right across the state line from Fargo, ND. The city of Moorhead is the county seat of Clay County and the largest city in northwest Minnesota. The population in 2018 was around 42,000 people. The plant was built in 1993 and has been owned by Pactiv since 1999. In 2017, the Moorhead Pactiv plant received the Pactiv Environmental Facility of the Year award.

 

The plant is a 24/7 operation with about 175 employees. The building is approximately 150,000 square feet and produces molded fiber products. These products include egg cartons which are made from recycled materials and molded fiber hinged lid containers and plates made from virgin fiber.
