MAU is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician for our client in North Charleston, SC. As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you will perform maintenance and operational duties to ensure the smooth functioning of device manufacturing facilities. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Benefits Package 401(k) 401(k) Matching Life Insurance Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability Flexible Spending Account Health Savings Account Opportunity for Advancement Shift Information 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM OR 2nd Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (2-2-3 schedule) Required Education and Experience High School Diploma One of the following: Associate degree in a related field Accredited Trade School completion Honorable Military Discharge with related field experience At least 5 years of facility maintenance experience (preferably in medical device manufacturing) OR: High School Diploma with 10+ years of direct plant maintenance experience Preferred Education and Experience Experience with fully automated assembly machines and robotics Leadership experience Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to work independently and adapt in a changing environment “Can-do” attitude and commitment to continuous learning General Requirements Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards 6S methodology knowledge Customer Service HVAC and Electrical Maintenance Risk Assessment and Safety Protocols Mechanical and Plumbing Systems Use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS) Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and off-hours Ability to support facility maintenance shutdowns Essential Functions Support facility buildout, commissioning, and qualification Operate and maintain utility systems (Air Handling Units, Chillers, Boilers, Emergency Generators, etc.) Manage outside contractors and vendor coordination Perform preventive, predictive, and unscheduled maintenance Complete cGMP-compliant documentation Troubleshoot systems up to 480V Participate in deviation investigations and corrective actions Recommend system upgrades and submit change requests Execute field work orders and job safety analyses (JSA) Minimize breakdowns through regular quality checks Interface with cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, EH&S, etc.) Working Conditions Work environment: Medical device manufacturing facility Interaction with facility teams, including production and utilities May require working from heights (scissor lift, harness) and roof access Two-floor facility accessible via stairwells Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands Frequent use of computer and keyboard Close vision required Light to moderate lifting Ability to access elevated areas and rooftops
