POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs on YMCA buildings, mechanical equipment, and grounds. General responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of facilities, as well as their ongoing preservation.
RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans, coordinates, and supervises the operation of the assigned facility, including access, custodial, grounds, HVAC, maintenance and repair of the facilities, safety, and security.Inspects facilities daily; troubleshoots and performs repairs to Building Trades (carpentry, painting, locks, roofs, windows, ceilings, flooring) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) deficiencies. Oversees facility grounds, landscaping, and pool maintenance. Responds to and arrests emergency maintenance concerns as required.Identifies potential safety hazards and mitigates risk exposure related to grounds and physical structures. Conducts preventative maintenance to HVAC equipment and building systems. Conducts severe weather preparation. Transports, relocates, or disposes of office equipment and furniture. Consults with outside vendors for estimates on repairs and replacements. Orders maintenance supplies, materials, and parts as needed. Oversees quarterly and annual systems inspections, as required.Monitors site cleanliness and escalates concerns to Facilities Dept. leadershipTravels to other Association properties, as needed.Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum of 2-3 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.Good skill in the use of hand and power tools. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policyAble to prioritize and meet deadlinesAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screeningCERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
