In 2019, the facility was designated as Meggitt’s Machining Center of Excellence, with state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. + Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California manufacturing features an upgraded 110k square foot, world-class manufacturing and testing facility. The facility has been designated as a Machining Center of Excellence within the Parker Meggitt group with recent additions of state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. We also have testing capabilities for fluid and pneumatic valves that can duplicate the high temperatures, pressures, and flow rates of modern aircraft systems. With our in-house design and development capabilities and with our growing product portfolio we are in a leadership position for the next generation of high-performance aircraft engines and airframes. + Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California facility designs and manufactures valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control lines include fuel, mixing, and starter valves, air-oil separators, and solenoid valves used in commercial and military aircraft and aero engines. Industrial offerings provide fuel and bleed-air control valves and ground fueling products for power generation and mechanical drives. POSITION SUMMARY: + The Facilities and Maintenance Manager role is to coordinate and oversee the safe, secure, and environmentally-sound operations and maintenance of the entire facility in a cost effective manner aimed at long-term preservation and preventive maintenance. + The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance team and provide determining workload, delegating assignments, training, monitoring and reviewing work performance for quality, accuracy and completeness. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Supervise, trains and manage maintenance team on a day to day basis. + Ability to manage various facilities projects and maintenance vendors for a corporate headquarters facility that requires a high level of attention and cleanliness. + Specifies and purchases all needed mechanical parts required for repairs and modifications. + Coordinates and acts as liaison between contractor(s) and Parker. + Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness + Partner with EH&S to establish a preventative maintenance program throughout the facility + Establishes, maintains, and enforces mechanical preventative maintenance programs. + Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives + Managing and leading preventative maintenance to ensure minimum disruption to core activities + Directing and planning essential central services such as maintenance, security, maintenance, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and other items as required + Ensuring the building meets health and safety requirements + Planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources for current premises + Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies + Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise. + Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money. + Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of Parker Lean System practices. + Perform other duties as assigned or requested. + Travel and/or Driving Requirements: 5-10% QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Bachelor's Degree is required for this role. Experience:10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Skills, Knowledge and Abilities List: + Sound administrative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail + Ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting and anticipating critical deadlines + Customer focused in addressing safety issues + Experience in lean, continuous improvement activities + Excellent communication skills both verbal and written + Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) + Problem-solving, flexibility and prioritization skills are required, ability to think outside the box and apply creative solutions to on-going maintenance problems. + Ability to work independently and use judgment to resolve both routine and non routine issues + Ability to work in a team based environment with other levels of the organization Office / Sedentary Requirements:Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements:Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
