Description
$17/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership
Saturday 9-3
Under the supervision of the director, the Facility Monitor is responsible for ensuring that member’s safety and safe facility operations. The Facility Monitor is responsible for supporting the member service center, Ready Fit Center, and facility maintenance staff in regards to policy enforcement. Regular rounds and inspection of the facility and its equipment are to be made on a consistent basis, with needs attended to or reported as needed. Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. The position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Provide superior high touch service to YMCA members, program participants, and the general public.
+ Enthusiastically greet all individuals that come into the YMCA.
+ Be knowledgeable and proficient in all procedures for programs, special events, facility hours, membership, and emergency procedures.
+ Conduct quality tours for prospective members.
+ Handle emergencies as they arise in a prompt and professional manner.
+ Knowledgeable in all YMCA programs and activities, as well as directors and key staff job responsibilities.
+ Assist with facility access and answering phones during peak periods.
+ Ensure the proper doors are locked and secure during shift.
+ Continuously rotate throughout the facility to ensure member safety and facility operations.
+ Report or repair any potentially hazardous facility conditions.
+ Ensure that all walkways and pathways are clear and passable.
+ Assist members, program participants, and general public as needed.
+ Conduct all building closing procedures as instructed.
+ Writes and maintains a log of incidents.
+ Understand and be able to discuss and promote all YMCA programs.
+ Attend all required training and meetings.
+ All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
+ Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment.
+ Uses best practices, guidelines, and industry standards as a framework to improve performance.
+ Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology associated with the job.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Must be at least 18 years of age.
+ Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
+ Strong communication skills and judgment.
+ Knowledge of YMCA rules, regulations and policies.
+ CPR/AED and First Aid certified or ability to obtain.

Salary Description
