If so, we have an exceptional opportunity for you to join the Peoria Proving Ground (PPG) team within the Earthmoving Division (EMD) as the **Facility Operations Manager** (internally known as a Senior Manager Engineering).
This pivotal role involves managing the shop, field, and instrumentation teams, comprised of over 80 management and hourly staff and over 30 statement of work employees, while also spearheading facility-specific strategies and critical initiatives. As the Operations Manager for our PPG facility, you will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our employees, our products, and the communities in which we operate.

Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will serve as the second-in-command at the facility, engaging with all levels of the business, and playing a crucial role in the safety and operations of our people and business.

**What You Will Do:**
+ **Oversee Core Operations Team:**
+ Lead the shop team, comprising over 40 expert mechanics, welders, fabricators, and machinists.
+ Lead the instrumentation team responsible for designing, installing, repairing, and managing instrumentation for product testing.
+ Lead the field team, which includes expert operators supporting machine development and testing, as well as the ecology teams maintaining field locations.
+ Lead the procurement and logistics team, which handles NPI, instrumentation, equipment, and facilities parts ordering and receiving for all PPG-related activities, in addition to the arrival and departure of machines from the site.
+ **Manage Site Workflow System:** Facilitate the daily operations Obeya with engineering teams to ensure efficient workflow and collaboration.
+ **Drive Operational Improvements:** Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to enhance the facility’s operations. Monitor and continuously improve process performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness for all operations activities and deliverables.
+ **Oversee Contractor Relationships:** Manage relationships with contractors involved in the facility's operations to ensure seamless collaboration and service delivery.
+ **Emergency Management Team Leader (EMTL) & Export Control Security Officer (ESCO):** Lead the Emergency Management team for the facility, including training team members and maintaining the emergency management plan. Maintain the Technology Control plan for the facility. Develop plans to control machine and equipment-related technology, as needed. Train team members on the control plan and how it impacts facility operations and engineering activities.
+ **Division Business Planning:** Engage with Business Resource in the budget planning process for annual and on-going business management. Lead the monthly review of indirect material, contractor, repair, and related expenses for the division. Lead the effort to forecast division-level foreseeable demand on an on-going basis.
+ **Operations Equipment Strategy:** Understand the state of the current equipment used by the Operations organization and develop a strategy for technology adoption to meet future needs. Lead the capital planning and execution efforts for operations equipment **.**
**What You Have (Basic Qualifications):**
+ **Degree/Experience:** 4-year engineering degree **AND** deep expertise in engineering or operations experience.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
