Are you looking for an opportunity to grow within a great organization? At Aqua, we have an exciting opportunity for a Facility Operator. This role is under the direction of the Field Supervisor and will perform a variety of activities to support the operation of water production facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, booster stations, distribution system, and the wastewater collection system.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Maintenance of equipment at the well and pumping facilities.
• Operation and maintenance of distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants, and services.
• Maintenance of equipment at wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
• Operation and maintenance of sewer collection systems including collection mains and pump stations.
• Troubleshoot and repair company service piping and appurtenances.
• Understand and follow the Company’s safety program.
• Conducts basic public relations in customer contacts.
• Perform customer service functions within the assigned systems. This includes but is not limited to meter reading; responding to customer requests/complaints; performing the necessary work required to maintain customers’ meters and company service lines/curb boxes; and responding to all Service Link work orders.
• Noting and reporting unusual conditions in the system.
• Observe construction and direct contractors on water and wastewater installations.
• Operate and maintain the vehicles and equipment used in operations
• Collect, analyze, and record wastewater samples for regulatory compliance and process control monitoring for proper operation of the systems.
• Performs other assignments as required.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must secure a PA DEP issued Class C & E or higher water or wastewater operator’s license with at least one of the Aqua required subclasses within thirty (30) months of employment.
• Must secure a PA DEP issued Class C & E or higher water and a PA DEP issued Class C & E or higher wastewater operator’s license with at least one Aqua required subclass for each license within thirty-six (36) months of employment.
• Must secure a PA DEP issued Class C & E water license with subclasses 7-12 and Class C & E wastewater license with subclasses 1-4 within forty-eight (48) months of employment.
• Operators may be required to secure additional subclasses, or a higher-Class license should those additional subclasses and/or higher-class licenses become required to operate any of the Honesdale Division’s current or future facilities.
• An additional six (6) months will be granted to secure the required license upgrade for each additional class and subclass required, provided the test is given during this period with sufficient notice.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 85 lbs.
