Primary Objective:   

Responsible for performing skilled painting work for the maintaining of interior and exterior surfaces, including equipment. 

 

Major Function and Scope: 

Prepares wood, metal, plaster, sheetrock, masonry, concrete, or other surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling cracks and holes, sanding and applying filters and base coats. 

Paints various surfaces with a wide range of paint using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. 

Assists the maintenance team with project work as needed. 

Completes additional tasks such as washing walls, cleaning, and maintaining tools and equipment. 

Conduct daily inspections. 

Operate power and hand tools safely. 

Assist with site cleaning 

Adhere to all safety policies and practices.   

Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision  

Follow all established standard operating procedures  

Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary 

Perform other tasks assigned by management 

 

Type of Experience and Knowledge: 

High School Diploma or equivalent. 

2-3 years of experience as a painter 

Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply for optimal results. 

Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques. 

Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.). 

Valid NC driver’s license and transportation. 

Skilled operation and servicing of equipment used in this position. 

 

Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information: 

This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be exposure to noise from machinery, variable temperatures, and department-specific conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, including eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, and high visibility clothing.  

Other working conditions may include working 12 hours shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays. 

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
