What You Will Do The Facility Technician plays an important role in facility, by working with the Maintenance Director and ensuring the building and its various needs are maintained and repaired. We are looking for a hands on person, with an understanding of hand and power tools, basic construction and carpentry. By making sure the building is in the best condition, our staff can continue to provide the best care to our residents. Responsibilities Inspecting and preparing residents rooms for new occupants Handling general preventive maintenance and repair needs of the building and equipment Maintains maintenance records for all work completed Performs routine inspection of building and grounds to insure adherence to local, state a and federal regulations Assist the Maintenance Director with safety inspections, drills, and any other job as needed Ability to work outside of normal business hours when needed Ability to participate in on call to deal with urgent situations as they occur Provides on going preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment Qualifications Must possess at least one year of experience managing the maintenance department of a commercial facility.  Previous experience in Long term care and familiarity with state and federal regulations is preferred. Must be able to safely use small hand tools and power tools Must be able to participate in on call rotation with the Maintenance Director Must be flexible to work other shifts as needed Knowledge of painting and basic carpentry
