Instructor of Respiratory Care with Duties of Program Coordination

The Division of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is seeking applicants for a full-time instructor of respiratory care position beginning Fall 2025 to teach in the Associate of Science degree program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). The Respiratory Care Program's goal is to prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning domains of the respiratory care practice. Graduates of the program are prepared to be successful registered respiratory therapists (RTTs). Primary responsibilities include teaching 9 credits/semester in the respiratory care program and/or the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Supervision program. Additionally, the candidate is responsible for the overall management and administration of the respiratory care educational program, ensuring compliance with CoARC accreditation standards, faculty supervision, student assessment, clinical placements, and continuous quality improvement. A master's degree is required as well as a current Respiratory Therapist license through the State Board of Medicine with expertise in respiratory care. The candidate must possess current clinical knowledge and skills and a passion for participating in the education of the next generation of RRTs. Must have evidence proficiency with technology and commitment to innovation to deliver evidence-based education. Preference is given to candidates with previous teaching experience in a respiratory care program and experience with program direction.
