Faculty Lecturer Visiting

The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a one-year Visiting Lecturer of Theatre and Performance Studies position beginning in August 2025.

The successful candidate will demonstrate significant expertise in theatre history and performance studies. Preferred specializations include Black, Asian, Latin American, or global Indigenous theatre and performance, disability and performance, and queer performance. Duties of the position include teaching undergraduate courses in world theatre history, performance studies, and script analysis; teaching a graduate seminar; mentoring and advising undergraduates in research and practice; and contributing to the diversity goals of the department in scholarship, teaching, and practice. Duties also may include supporting production work in accordance with the candidate’s areas of expertise.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. completed by the date of hire and will demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence, artistic practice, and an active research profile in the field.
