The Division of Humanities at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) invites applications for a full-time Appointment Stream Assistant Professor who will teach, advise majors, and serve in our Philosophy program. Candidates should have areas of specialization in Ethics and Political Philosophy. Areas of Competency include the History of Philosophy, both Ancient and Modern, Logic, 20th Century Analytic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, and Business Ethics. Candidates must also be qualified to teach English Composition. The appointee will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses (12 credit hours) each semester. The qualified candidate should have a Ph.D. by the time of appointment or be enrolled in an appropriate doctoral program. Teaching experience is required, as is evidence of teaching effectiveness. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with and working in the Analytic Philosophical tradition.
