Assistant Professor of Surgery
The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh is inviting applications for a faculty position in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor, appointment stream. The assigned faculty will play an integral role in the clinical care of colon and rectal surgery patients and have a strong involvement with medical students, residents, and fellow teachers. Outstanding individuals are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to join a group of dedicated colon and rectal surgeons in a large-volume, academic program. The faculty member will play an integral role in the clinical care of colon and rectal surgical patients, have a strong involvement in resident and fellow teaching, and have access to clinical trial enrollment.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a medical degree, completion of an accredited general surgery residency training program, and fellowship in colon and rectal surgery or surgical oncology, with eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. Applicants should be board-certified with significant interest and ability in clinical care and teaching. Candidates should possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills, and evidence of interest in and involvement in clinical research and/or quality improvement activity.
Responsibilities:
The qualified physician will be actively involved in patient care and medical student, resident, and fellow teaching in the area of colon and rectal surgery.
