The Division of Child Neurology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks neuroscience candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Candidates carrying out basic science or translational research in areas related to neurology using genetic and genomic approaches are preferred. Applicants must have an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D.-Ph.D. degree. Board certification in Child Neurology is preferred. Teaching responsibilities may include Ph.D.-level graduate students, post-doctoral Ph.D. fellows, and M.D. fellows. Compensation will be commensurate with rank and experience. Ph.D. candidates qualify for full-time University of Pittsburgh employment. MD-Ph.D. candidates qualify for dual employment with the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh Physicians to satisfy clinical care requirements.

The successful candidate will build an independent research program in basic or translational pediatric neurology that results in publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and funding from NIH and other federal and non-federal funding agencies. The selected candidate will interact and collaborate with investigators in the Department of Pediatrics as well as with the larger neuroscience community across the University of Pittsburgh campus. The ideal candidate will have the ability to productively collaborate with clinicians to foster translational research in their area of expertise.

Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor positions in the tenure stream at the University of Pittsburgh with rank and salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials. General rank requirements: Assistant Professors have 1-6 years of experience with demonstrated academic progress/contributions in their pediatric specialty; Associate Professors have 7-10 years of experience with significant demonstrated academicprogress/contributions in their pediatric specialty.
