As a Failure Analysis Lab Technician you will perform technical tests and experiments for engineering in the wafer fabrication area of semiconductor manufacturers, perform set-up of semiconductor failure analysis equipment. You will also perform failure analysis and prepare, records, charts, and graphs of results for presentation to engineering to identify yield problems or test new products while providing technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel.

ResponsibilitiesMonitors probed material and performs manual yield accounting, utilizing defect referencesPerforms initial data analysis on new issues, documents findings and communicates to part ownersAble to perform electrical and physical failure analysisPerforms data analysis to support failure analysis results in pursuit of root causeSummarizes investigation findings into a single report, including the potential root caseAble to efficiently operate all lab equipment while adhering to defined safety guidelinesUnderstands equipment operation and can perform basic troubleshootingWorks to support company and department objectives and vision plansOpen to suggesting new ideas and participates in projects and teams in support of department and company objectivesCompletes and maintains all required training certificationsMaintains technical knowledge of device structure and function for current and future partsSuggests improvements for department and works with leadership to implement changes

Minimum qualificationsAbility to work 12-hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off)PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPointPrevious experience working in a lab

Preferred qualificationsEducation in industry related associate degree; working towards a STEM related degree; equivalent military training and experience; equivalent work experiencePrior semiconductor experienceKnowledge of SEM and FIB
