The Failure Analysis Technician is responsible for analyzing the failures of PCBs from Generac’s clean energy reliability stress testing. Organization and cleanliness of the FA Lab, calibration and clerical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under Supervision perform failure analysis activities related to the design, manufacture, and reliability of Clean Energy PCB’s and other components as necessary.Assignments are varied and require a results-driven approach, must be driven to investigate root cause of failures and work in team environment to determine corrective actions.Candidate must be detail-oriented and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.Actively seek out and utilize technical expertise from within the company to assist in problem solving.Help develop new Failure Analysis procedures and tools then fully document the workflows and procedures.Help Prepare technical failure analysis and root cause reports for internal customers.Assist in maintaining labs’ 6S methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain and Safety).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Associate’s degree in engineering or science or relevant Military electronics training.Minimum 0-1 years of experience in electronic components or assemblies.Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.Technical background in PCB’s, electronic componentsElectrical test experience (basic measurements; Voltage, Current, Resistance and Capacitance). Oscilloscope, DMM, LCRSMT Soldering skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.Time and project prioritization skills.Software skills including MS Office suiteExtremely organized with respect to lab equipment and maintain calibration of equipmentPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
