Failure Analysis Technician

Job Summary:

Technician I, Failure Analysis is an entry level role using professional concepts, applying policies and procedures to troubleshoot and document routine issues.  Responsible for assisting in failure analysis of customer returned products to aid in root cause isolation of full device system issues or sensor and cable issues.  Works closely with Failure Analysis Engineers to understand the root cause of product failures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Works on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures. Perform root cause analysis related tasks with Masimo products, including devices, cables, and sensors. Test cables and sensors using test fixtures and established procedures. Test electronic devices at a system level using operating manuals and established procedures. Test electronic circuits at a component level using circuit schematics and layouts. Document investigation findings into Quality Management System. Acquire investigation artifacts via photographs, microscope imaging, and x-ray imaging. Perform routine laboratory maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, equipment maintenance, inventory auditing, customer returned product processing and tracking. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. 

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in data entry into a database and manipulation of data within MS office applications. Good communication skills both verbal and written, and detailed oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in: Electronics troubleshooting or repair and support services. Cable or wiring harness testing. Use of test equipment such as multimeters, calipers, and microscopes.

Education:

High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience.

Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $19.71 - $29.33 per hour.  Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment 

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking.  Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods. Requires walking within the facilities.
