Family Based Clinician

The Family Based Mental Health Services Program is considered the most intense outpatient service a client/family can receive. The Family Based Clinician I works on a team with a master level clinician, providing individual and family therapy, case management, crisis management and advocacy for families. It is truly the Swiss Army knife of mental health. Our office is located in the Franklin Building on the vibrant, Southside of Pittsburgh. Family Based clinicians provide services in the family’s homes. The work schedule for this position is flexible/non-traditional hours, Monday through Friday, with weekend sessions held occasionally.

Family Based Clinician II level candidates will be considered for this role.  The title and pay rate (minimum rate for Clinician II is $24.27) for these positions may vary depending on education level and years of experience.

The Family Based Clinician II works on a team with a bachelor level clinician, providing individual and family therapy, case management, crisis management and advocacy for families.

Responsibilities:

·       Productivity Standards: Maintain 28 hours of billable services per week, with at least 60% delivered by a master-level clinician.

·       1:1 Interventions: Provide one-on-one interventions to children or adolescents in various settings to prevent more restrictive environments.

·       Direct Mental Health Services: Offer direct mental health services to children and adolescents at risk of psychiatric hospitalization or out-of-home placement.

·       Family Support: Assist families in stabilizing the child or adolescent using various therapeutic approaches.

·       Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams, participate in interagency meetings, and coordinate case management.

·       Behavioral Programs: Help parents and teachers implement behavioral programs.

·       Treatment Plans: Follow individualized treatment plans and report significant changes in client functioning.

·       Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of patient contacts and meetings.

·       Confidentiality: Ensure confidentiality and demonstrate respectful behavior.

·       Supervision and Training: Attend weekly supervision meetings and complete required training and staff development sessions.
