Purpose of the Post:
The Family Support Worker will work directly with the families, assessing and implementing placement plans, in order to promote, strengthen and to develop parenting skills and to promote the welfare of the child at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Working with families:
- In line with placement plans, provide families with support on every aspect of daily life, health and well-being to include
- Basic baby care, feeding and eating, sleeping, budgeting, safety, discipline, health eating, healthy lifestyles and choices.
- To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual families` placement and assessment plans.
- To undertake key work sessions as directed by the Case Manager.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents and other family members and professionals including GPs, HVs and social workers.
- To ensure that all documentation is completed and that this is evidence based and reflective of the circumstances and issues.
Managing resources:
- To maintain a safe environment, complying with health and safety and other legal requirements
- To maintain the fabric of the building, its grounds and equipment in good order, encourage staff and children to care for their surroundings and make best use of the available resources.
- To use community resources where appropriate.
Personal:
- To read and understand Company policies and procedures and ensure their operation within the Unit.
- To maintain professional knowledge and skills through reading, attending conferences, training and other such activities, as agreed with the line manager.
- To report to a line manager or other appropriate person, in the event of awareness of concerns in respect of families or staff.

Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults:
- Resolve is committed to the protection of children and vulnerable adults. As such we require all post holders to have an enhanced DBS.
Health and Safety:
- The post holder will be expected to have an understanding of their responsibility for the health and safety of the staff and families within the Unit.
- They will ensure that they are familiar with the health and safety policies and that they are adhered to accordingly.

Technology and Data Protection:
- The post holder must be aware of their responsibility for ensuring that all data is collected, stored and shared in line with Data Protection legislation.
- Due to the nature of the service, the post holder will be expected to carry out any other duties commensurate to the role.
Hours: 40 per week (includes some weekend / evening / Bank holiday hours)
Salary: 27,352.00 pa
Location: Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge (just on outskirts of Essex)
Reports to: Registered Manager
