What you need to know Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience. Other Requirements and Factors: Will require weekend hours worked on a rotation schedule. Once hired, employee will receive trained by the Office of Safety Occupational Health Program on Biosafety Level 2. Required Education and Experience: + High School diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience. + Two years in building, machinery, and/or equipment maintenance, installation and repair work; materials handling, warehouse operation or landscape irrigation systems. + Tractor/mower operating experience. Required Licenses and Certifications: + Valid driver license or the ability to obtain State of Texas class "C" vehicle driver license within 30 days of employment and good driving record. Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. + Must be capable of making measurements and working with accurate dimensions and possess considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade. + Ability to comprehend instructions. + Knowledge of livestock. Preferred Qualifications: + Two years of experience with tractor/mowers + TAMU Respirator Fit-Test Certification Responsibilities: + FIELD WORK: Mow pastures, and edges and trims around property. Operates and maintains mechanical equipment. + MAINTENANCE WORK: Performs trade work at the semi-skilled level for maintenance and repair or new construction to Veterinary facilities. Operates motor vehicles in the performance of duties and in transit to work locations. + WELDING: Performs welding in heating, cutting and brazing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals with acetylene electrical equipment. + ANIMAL CARE: Feeds and waters research animals, cleans and disinfects animal housing facilities, disposes of animal and carcasses in prescribed manner. Assists in coordinating and assigning daily work schedules for employees. Assists in purchasing supplies and equipment.
