JR52476 FE Central Quality Senior Process Control System Engineer

As Global Front End Central Quality (FECQ) Process Control System (PCS) Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be accountable for improving the process control for all Micron Fabs.

You work with Front End Fabs and other central teams resources to provide direction and assistance with process control systems and help coordinate control systems across multiple facilities globally.

In this position, you will be tasked with driving SPC program, working with SMAI/IT/vendor for application improvement & upgrade that is aimed at reducing overall product variation which will result in higher process margins, increased yield and reliability as well as productivity.

As FECQ PCS engineer, you will be expected to lead the SWAT, develop and deploy BKM of PCS. You also need to establish metrics, provide coaching and training of BKMs.

Responsibilities:

Support Strategic Process Control System Responsibilities

Support the PCS roadmap for world-wide alignment and continuous improvement of process control practices.Evaluate global needs and cultivate global relationships.Support and mentor PCS teams worldwide by providing guidance.Work with subject matter experts to identify business process gaps and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to address.Evaluate the quality of data collected, drawing conclusions based on this data and initiating follow-up action items.Partner with QRA, OCT PEE, cPIE, SMAI and IT to ensure all business needs are properly documented, validated, and escalated as needed.Determine if project objectives have been met or if more effort is required. 

Process Control Engineer Responsibilities

Provide direction on the facilitation of practical application of PCS disciplines of SPC, PCS or Metrology Sampling within MFG environment.Partner with Site Quality, OCT PEE, cPIE, and IT to ensure all business needs are properly documented, validated, and escalated as needed.Facilitate root cause identification activities on fabs related excursion to ensure proper reaction PCS actions are followed through on.Be able to support PCS-SPC teams worldwide by providing guidance in PCS solutions such as inline detection methodology through SPC, statistical techniques for establishing proper limits for different type of distributions to improve inline detections.Co-lead SWAT and work with Subject Matter Experts to identify business process gaps and Best Known Methods and facilitate communication plan for all SWAT activities to/from stakeholders, participants, and management.Refine Program/SWAT charter, and build roadmap going forward for world-wide alignment and continuous improvement of process control practices.Drive and lead SPC Program for alpha site to achieve variation reduction goals to support the Cpk and yield.

Demonstrate Individual Competence/Technical Expertise

Provide technical consulting and hands-on assistance to Fab PCS teams for creation and/or identification of best PCS solutions/Statistical methods, troubleshooting existing PCS solutions, and deployment of PCS solutions.Define PCS software requirements for Corp IT. Act as the liaison between SWAT team and Corp IT team; provide technical expertise to assist IT with understanding the SWAT’s current and future needs.Evaluate PCS solutions - third-party software and hardware selection.Recognize functional and business process gaps. Formulate proposals for closing them.Increase technical expertise by participating in classes conferences, and researching existing literature and existing Micron expertise.

Program Management

Demonstrate ability to move projects effectively through project lifecycle – initiate, plan, execute, and close – while balancing time, cost, quality, scope and risk/opportunity constraints.Motivate stakeholders and all project team members to take ownership of project and its success.Direct and coordinate the activities of others to accomplish project tasks successfully.Define metrics to gauge project success.

Communication

Provide periodic updates based on project criticality to stakeholders and team members on project status, progress, and roadblocks/opportunities..Offer and communicate strategic ideas and thinking to meet corporate objectives. Listen to customer’s and stakeholder’s input/feedback and act to maximize benefit to Micron and meet corporate goals.Build and maintain external and internal relationships to broaden influence and increase learning opportunities in the PCS area.Provide communication to the World-wide PCS group on PCS lessons learned, project repositories, summits, new technologies, conference proceedings and Best Known Methods (BKMs).Demonstrate cultural sensitivity - Show respect for different cultures and languages.Communicate effectively with vendors/suppliers. Understand and use appropriate communication channels (other Central Team members, Purchasing, etc.). Clearly and accurately communicate Micron’s needs and objectives to vendors/suppliers. Adheres to company ethics and confidentiality policies regarding vendors/suppliers.

 Requirements :

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field of study5 years experience in Process Control Engineering.A Process/Equipment Engineering background and experience.An understanding of Fab processes and tools.Familiarity with area and Fab software applications, such as SPACE, GeRM, Sigma, JMP, SoV, ORION, and Yield 3.Strong analytical problem-solving skills.Self-motivated and people oriented: have strong persuasive and diplomatic communication skills (oral, written, one-on-one, and group).Been recognized as an individual who obtains results through the coordination of successful teams.Good time-management skills.Good judgment.Above average working relationships with co-workers.A high level of self-motivation with a good work ethic.The ability to work unsupervised and support production needs
