We are seeking a talented individual to join our Federal Health Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in Washington DC. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Federal Health Consultant, Sr. Associate Level
As a Senior Associate in Mercer’s Federal Health practice, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact solutions to federal government clients. This position sits at the intersection of policy, data, and strategy—supporting public health programs that serve millions of individuals.
This role is ideal for professionals with 3–5 years of experience in healthcare consulting, government programs, or public health who are ready to deepen their impact and grow into formal leadership roles.
We will count on you to:
Lead defined project workstreams from start to finishDevelop and manage detailed work plans and timelines for assigned tasksEnsure timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverablesConduct or oversee complex analyses using technology enabled toolsInterpret healthcare and policy data (e.g., quality metrics, utilization, financials) to develop actionable insightsServe as a day-to-day contact for clients on specific workstreamsParticipate in client meetings, present findings, and contribute to discussions and recommendationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including actuaries, policy analysts, and cliniciansWhat you need to have:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, Health Policy, Public Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field3–5 years of experience in consulting, government, or healthcare-related rolesStrong analytical skills and proficiency with data tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Excel)Excellent communication skills—both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to manage complex tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaborativelyExperience working with publicly funded health programs preferredWhat makes you stand out?

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $88,000 to $176,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
