Summary: This position is responsible for the daily operations of feed mill activities and will operate the various equipment required to manufacture fish feeds.  The Feed Mill Operator will monitor, troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to processing conditions in order to produce high-quality products.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Monitor production and quality, anticipate problems and resolve them in a timely manner Analyze and identify opportunities for process improvement Accurately count and measure ingredients, finished feeds, and manufacturing components Keep accurate records as required by lead extruder operator Perform routine maintenance Shipment of products Use of forklift and other required equipment Satisfactory participation and completion of required training Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information Fosters a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A high school diploma is required Troubleshooting skills Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person. Ability to understand technical and day-to-day operation of a feed mill facility Ability to work independently with urgency and meet deadlines Maintain positive professional relationships, both internal and external Basic skill level of Microsoft Office Suite and the capability of learning new programs. Valid driver's license.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection). Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, computer use, telephone use and ability to work independently. Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights as needed. While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly exposed to: mechanical parts dusty conditions high noise environment outside weather in all conditions chemicals used in the process Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.
