+ **Status:** PRN - 9 Month Contract **Exempt:** No
+ **Shift Hours:** M - F hours Vary
+ **Weekend Work:** Occasional
+ **On Call:** No
**The FEMA Project COPE - Crisis Counselor I is responsible for:**
+ Working with individuals, families and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis interventions, public education, and linkage to needed referrals.
+ Representing the program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure the needs of the survivors are met.
+ Providing presentation to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills and stress management.
*Travel is required throughout the assigned county. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.
**Experience:**
+ Previous experience working with mental health and/or substance use related issues preferred.
**Required Certification/License:**
+ BLS (Basic Life Support) within 60 days
+ Driver's License
**Required Education:**
+ High School Diploma/GED
