We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our supported living service based in Hamworthy, Poole.
For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
You must hold a full UK manual Drivers license, and be willing to drive a Sense vehicle for this role.
We provide support between 7am - 10pm so this role will include a mixture of days, evening shifts, and possible sleep in shifts. This role does include weekend work.
The individual you will support is confident and enthusiastic about going out in the community where they need to be supported on a 2 to 1 basis. They are deafblind and hold a tenancy for their own home.
This individual has a team to support her 24/7 with 6hrs daily 2:1 support for community access + a sleep-in staff member. They communicate with BSL signs, PECs (Pictorial exchange system), photos and gestures, they are a energetic, fun loving person that has a full weekly schedule of activities which include, walks, café visits, trampolining, Cinema, Gateway Club, regular short breaks and holidays is something they enjoy. Also enjoys ad hoc activities like the theatre, themed days out like the winter garden lights in Bournemouth and the fireworks.
