Com p letes vessel passenger a n d ve h ic l e count sheets. 30 % Performs security and safety checks on vehicles boarding and while the vessel is underway. Fastens and l oosens hawsers and mooring lines to piers. Operates bilge pumps. Traffic ramps and gates on vessel. Lowers and raises anchors, coils and splices rope for rope fenders and makes eyes in cable. Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning, Chipping, scraping, painting, changing oil and filters, polis h ing bright work, etc. Lo a ds and unloads material and equipment for use on vehicle. 20 % Serves as Desig n ated member of the Crew in accordance with the requ i r ement of the vessel's Coast Guard Certificates of Inspection.
