FF&E Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

FF&E is the abbreviation for “Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment”. The Specialist is responsible for the detailed aesthetic and experience-based maintenance and assessments of the resort buildings of various facilities on property. Operational functions would include material restoration, basic maintenance needs, material storage and transport, and daily inspections of all resort spaces. The Specialist performs multi-skilled duties to maintain the visual and functional standards within all areas of the resort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Daily inspections of all guest facing areas with cross departmental assessments – Functional tech and equipment, engineering and preventative maintenance needs, furniture and finishes assessment, cleanliness standards, and overall guest experience impression. Each inspection requires immediate action of basic visual maintenance needs, communication of needs to external departments, and plans of long term solutions as needed. Typical inspection resolutions may include but are not limited to the following: Specialty or spot cleaning, furniture and material restoration, basic maintenance needs, adjusting IT settings, repairing various damages, and movement of décor and furniture items. FF&E is held at an off-site warehouse in Uniontown. This zone will require assistance in organization, inventory, and incoming/outgoing truckloads. Transportation to and from various warehouses will be required as well as movements within property. We must place each item to their final destination within the visual standards expected of guest experience. This position requires artistic attention to detail to help maintain our design standards across the resort, as well as a keen eye to identify all inconsistencies even on a minor scale. Various preventative maintenance needs may be required to assist in the longevity of our items. This may include lacquering brass, applying various sealants/ topcoats/ protectants, stone guards, material restorations, and other requests as needed. This component may require creative solutions researched for unique and difficult challenges. Fine art assistance as needed. This will require trained and monitored handling, maintenance, transport, and installation. General resort assistance requested within construction project set ups, BOH organization, and additional warehouse assistance. Other job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Must be comfortable driving a box truck and a forklift. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff, students, and coworkers is also required. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend duty based on the needs of miscellaneous projects and urgent requests. Must be able to speak English. Previous experience within maintenance, construction, and design industries is a plus.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through recreational experience.
