JOB TITLE: FIBER DESIGNER

SCHEDULE/ENVIRONMENT: 100% Remote Opportunity

DESCRIPTION: As a Fiber Designer, you will be responsible for developing and designing detailed Outside Plant (OSP) system layouts.

Develop and design detailed OSP system layouts, including route analysis, fiber optic cable placement, pole line and underground conduit systems, and other related infrastructureTelecom design and documentation of OSP and fiber design, documentation, specifications, and construction administrationPerform field surveys and site visits to collect data and assess potential construction challengesCreate Detailed Drawings and Maps using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) SoftwareWork closely with municipal authorities and other utility services to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsMonitor project progress, providing updates and adjustments to designs as needed to address field changes and challengesAnalyze and select appropriate materials and technologies to optimize network performance and cost-efficiencyPartnering with designers for final drawings and calculationsResearching design solutions and industry best practices

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of post-graduate design experience within ArcGIS (Geographic Information Systems)Degree within Engineering, GIS, or relevant courseworkFiber experience is required:Fiber Splice diagram creationFiber to the Home experienceExperience with OH/UG Fiber placementsExperience within permittingMust have valid work authorization
