Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Fiber Splicer to join our night operations team. This role involves the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables in both aerial and underground environments. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently during night hours.

What You'll Do Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing.Interpret and update fiber schematics and documentation.Troubleshoot and repair fiber outages, cut fibers, and other fiber optic issues.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.Work in various environments including confined spaces, heights, and inclement weather. What You'll Bring

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.2+ years of experience in fiber splicing and testing.Proficiency with splicing equipment (e.g., Fujikura, AFL, Sumitomo).Familiarity with OTDR and other fiber testing tools.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and be on-call as needed.

Preferred Skills

Experience with ribbon splicing and high-count fiber cables.Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.Strong problem-solving and communication skills. What You'll Get
