Morgan Stanley Structured Margin Finance (“SMF”) is seeking to hire a senior asset manager for the structured margin financing (SMF) business based in New York. SMF provides institutional clients with financing solutions in the form of Repo on tradable securitized products or TRS on portfolios of corporate bonds and loans, with current book approximately $10BN in size across different collaterals and different regions.
The asset management team within SMF supports the ongoing risk oversight and portfolio management function, and interacts with Traders, Senior FID Management and other key constituents (e.g. Credit and Market Risk departments). Some experience with securitized products and/or credit products is prerequisite for this position.
Responsibilities would include:
• Responsible for evaluating and managing risk for the SMF portfolio
• Conduct market and asset level research, keep track of industry key trends
• Review and evaluate new transactions and trade amendments
• Perform portfolio surveillance and stress testing
• Perform periodic business reviews and provide reporting to senior management as well as business partners in Risk function and Capital Markets
• Lead development of risk reporting and analytics tools; oversee automation of reporting and monitoring processes with an emphasis on efficiency and scalability

• Deep understanding of risk management principles
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical and business problem solving skills
• B.A. in economics, accounting, finance or related field
• 5 years of experience, preferably in fixed income, Risk/Asset management, or structured products

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000 and $250,000 per year for Vice President, at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
