Job Description

The Migraine Field Access Specialist (FAS) acts as a non-clinical, in-office resource that is available to educate and address HCP questions about patient access. The FAS is a field-based role, working in-person with HCP offices in the assigned geography, with the ability to address questions about patient access & reimbursement in support of AbbVie’s prescription-based migraine portfolio. The FAS provides expertise on coverage and reimbursement barriers to enhance the patient experience. Responsibilities include educating HCPs about access and reimbursement using AbbVie approved support tools, advising HCPs on patient prescription status, program eligibility, and educating offices on payer processes and procedures. 

Specific Responsibilities:

Educate HCPs using AbbVie approved access and reimbursement support tools and services.Establish and maintain relationships with providers, strategically prioritizing travel & activity across the entire FAS geography.Be a subject matter expert on relevant local, regional, and national payer policies to appropriately educate providers on payer requirements.Effectively work in a high cross-matrix environment, implementing appropriate ways of working communication with teams in sales, market access, and patient service peers.Identify and report back payer trends of approved products to patient services and market access account management teams.Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.Demonstrate agility to effectively incorporate the use of approved resources and data platforms to appropriately support HCP education initiatives that enhance the patient’s experience.

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required

Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment

Qualifications
Field Access Specialist IBachelor’s degree: biological sciences, business related field, or equivalent.At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience with field-based experience in account management, payer account management, and/or field-based account access and reimbursement.Thorough understanding of the payer policy processes, published criteria and documentation for coverage, coding, prior authorization, and appeal processes.Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services.Comprehensive understanding of commercial and governmental payer access dynamicsDemonstrated success in territory and account management skills, preferably in neurology.Bachelor’s degreeValid driver’s licenseAdditional Field Access Specialist II Qualifications5 or more years of industry experience in access and reimbursement or field-based account management.Experience developing approved resources and/or educating others on payer processes, requirement for coverage, and other access related situations for specialty medicines.Strong history of leadership within current role at the national level.

 

Overnight travel may be necessary to efficiently work this geography.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
