Where You Will Work
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

DescriptionA hands-on learning experience for individuals who have completed a classroom based electrical apprenticeship program. This program includes a combination of minimal classroom courses focused on Freeport-McMoRan policies and procedures and on-the-job training designed to develop selected candidates into highly skilled and professional trade employees. Successful candidates are responsible for hands-on learning and performing electrical maintenance/operations activities with minimal to moderate supervision, or supports journeymen in their electrical maintenance activities.
Perform basic electrical maintenance activities Perform safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment such as forklifts, stinger trucks and overhead and mobile cranes Perform work area and equipment safety inspections Attend required classroom training sessions as necessary Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of, or graduation from one of the following:A structured electrical apprenticeship programA certified electrical training institute; ORCompletion of a Joint Technical Education District (JTED) programBasic electrical maintenance principlesMust have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
Preferred

What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $22.50 - $30.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
