Atlantic Health System is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the energetic and innovative team of healthcare professionals in the Sports Medicine Department as a Field Athletic Trainer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advanced sports medicine knowledge and evidence-based practice to provide athletic training services to AHS affiliated School or Team Organization. The ideal candidate will autonomously provide medical care to all athletes affiliated with designated School or Team Organization.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Administrative supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Department
2. Daily supervision of direct reports
3. Provide feedback on performance and submit comments on annual performance evaluations for direct reports
4. Oversees hiring, promotions, and transfers for direct reports
5. Establishes weekly work schedules for physicians and direct reports
6. Establishes and adjusts athletic training room hours of operation based on athlete and athletic department needs
7. Annually develops and revises emergency action plans to ensure compliance with standards of best practice and relevant rules and regulations.
8. Provides educational opportunities focused on overall athlete wellness and injury prevention for athletes, coaches, and medical staff as indicated
9. Manages and resolves complex grievances related to the medical care provided to athletes
10. Acts as liaison between athlete and physician
11. Clinical supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Program
12. Perform history and physical examinations on indicated athletes
13. Use clinical judgement to coordinate referrals and follow-up care on indicated athletes
14. Provide emergency medical coverage during all home athletic events
15. Deliver treatment and rehabilitation to indicated athletes
16. Promotes, develop, and implement safety and injury prevention measures
17. Schedule on campus injury clinics and pre-participation physicals
18. Maintain HIPPA compliant medical records
