Your Role at KIK
Are you ready to be part of something dynamic and impactful? Join our team as a Field Chemical Engineer, where you’ll play a crucial role in reshaping the future of our operations across North America. In this exciting position, you’ll provide hands-on site engineering support for chemical processes and equipment working closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to drive safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The position is under the guidance of the Director of Chemical Management and Emergency Response, and you’ll be expected to travel 50-75% of the time across North America, making a direct impact on various sites. You will be expected to be on site at the plant you live closest to when not traveling.
What You’ll Be Doing
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Investigate and diagnose operational problems with chemical processes and equipment Analyze process data, identify root causes of issues, and recommend corrective actions Troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and process equipmentProcess Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, yield, and product quality Develop and implement process improvements, including modifications to operating parameters, equipment upgrades, and new technologies Conduct process simulations and perform data analysis to support optimization effortsProject Support:
Provide engineering support for capital projects, including feasibility studies, design reviews, and commissioning Assist in the development of PHA’s, Process Safety Information (PSIs) and other chemical safety documentation Oversee the installation and startup of new equipment and processesSafety and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Conduct safety audits and participate in incident investigations Promote a strong safety cultureTechnical Support:
Provide technical guidance and support to operations and maintenance personnel Maintain accurate and up-to-date process documentationWhat You’ll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field 2 or more years of experience in a chemical process industry Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer Experience with process control systems (e.g., DCS, PLC) and instrumentation Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong safety and environmental awarenessWhat You Will Get
