Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Field Civil Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for exercising technical expertise in the construction engineering field, within major construction projects, applying comprehensive knowledge within the civil infrastructure discipline during construction, as well as the methods and techniques to be utilized for installation. 

The incumbent plans, schedules, supervises, and exercises administrative authority over all field engineering work. In addition to construction supervision, the incumbent is also responsible for field administration, procurement, and field engineering, specifically in in Airfield Runways, Taxiways, and Aprons.

What You'll Be Doing:

Plans, organizes, and ensures adequate staffing, execution, and monitoring of all field engineering activities and related support operations.Provides guidance regarding scope of work, schedules, procedures, field construction problems, and other technical information. Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.Establishes, monitors, and maintains construction engineering quality control in the field.Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees. Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with project design engineering, client representatives, and contractors.Maintains project control documentation, design drawings and specifications, back-charge documents, change orders, etc.Monitors contractor performance pertaining to schedule and conformance to plans and specifications.Conducts performance evaluations for assigned personnel.Makes decisions regarding long-range planning, scheduling, budgeting, work priorities, and personnel. Provide advice on field engineering procedures, construction methods, and financial matters to management.Interfaces with upper-level management and client personnel.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor or higher degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent from a recognized university is required.Professional Engineering License is preferred and PMP certification or equivalent is required.Minimum of ten (10) years of overall construction and engineering experience directly related to general field administration on significant civil and utility infrastructure construction projects is required.  Eight (8) years of the experience must be in responsible construction administration assignments involving independent construction and general office engineering decisions on international infrastructure projects, particularly in airports (landside and airside).Demonstrated understanding of airfield pavement construction techniques, including principles and application of ICAO/ FAA construction standards and methods is required.Understanding of design, materials specification, and maintenance of airfield pavements, lighting, NAVAIDs, and other industry technologies and practices.Proficiency in applying advanced construction management techniques and the ability to plan, organize and supervise the construction administration work of one or more construction projects. Capable of adapting to demanding project conditions, including geological considerations.Ability to apply plans and specifications to a project, adapt to field conditions and react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction engineering problems.Ability to present issues to management in written or oral reports, offering recommendations or corrective actions to the best interests of the client.Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer literate.
