Flare Construction is seeking a qualified Field Data Collector (Weld Mapper) to join our Gas Division, primarily in Northern Utah. However, travel to other locations, such as statewide in Utah, Southern Idaho, and Western Wyoming, will also be required based on project needs. Office work and computer-based responsibilities will occur primarily in our Coalville, Utah office. Weld Mappers assist with daily reports, which include measuring and documenting hard surface cuts and tracking footage and quantities of the items, construction staking, and keeping field notes and rough sketches throughout the project. Other duties are outlined below but may not be exhaustive. A candidate may be hired as Level I or Level II based on qualifications.

What You'll Do

Field Data Collector Technician Level I

Perform and collect field measurements of pipe lengths, heat numbers, Serial numbers, any needed ID numbers, special conditions related to installation, pictures, sketches, station plus measurements, and other items deemed necessary to be collected in the field. Once data is collected, technicians at the Technician I level should possess the skills and training to produce an electronic PDF file of the collected data and compile it into a file to be sent to the Purchaser. Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge of email, Word, Excel, PDF, file formatting, and digital photography sorting and storage onto USB devices or secure servers.Expected to self-manage time and schedule time to meet project demands, which includes coordinating schedule with Purchaser's representative and supplies project manager

Field Data Collector Technician Level II

 

Perform all skills of Level I Technician with the addition of experience and in-depth knowledge.In addition, Level II Technicians must possess more advanced skills, knowledge, and experience in field data collection and more detailed information about the project.Have greater knowledge of fittings, piping, valves, weld procedures, and other items.A Level II Technician should have computer skills to produce basic isometric drawings, schedule of material blocks, written descriptions, and basic use of CAD-type software. Level II Technicians should be able to produce basic isometric drawings, schedule of material blocks, written descriptions, and essential use of CAD-type software.Prior experience with Gas projects is preferred.Must have a valid Driver's License and a good driving recordMust pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Employees must be able to work in an outdoor field environment throughout the year and tolerate extreme temperature variations.Activities such as lifting, bending, and climbing are required to fulfill job duties for this position. What You'll Get
