About this role

The Field Director, Medical Science Liaisons - Immunology role is a part of US Medical Affairs, a strategic partner within Biogen, that helps inform medical practice across our therapeutic areas and pipeline to improve meaningful patient outcomes. What You Will Do

Actively manage and coach a team of MSLs by encouraging professional and personal development.  Provide leadership and direction to MSLs to achieve performance objectives.Represent the US Medical team as the primary regional field liaison between the commercial and medical organizations and lead the ongoing evolution of the medical and commercial collaboration model. Take a customer-centric, metrics based and data-driven approach to setting measurable goals while ensuring MSLs execute successfully in alignment with the US medical strategy. Be accountable for your team's performance and instilling a positive climate within it in alignment with Biogen's culture.

You have clinical training with work experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology industry. You keep patients, payers and health care providers top of mind in your daily work and collaborate to solve critical scientific and business challenges.

Qualifications

Required skills

7+ years of Medical Affairs experience, including MSL experience, required.Advanced scientific or clinical degree required; doctoral level preferred (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP).Demonstrated leadership and management of effective Medical Affairs teams required.Excellent communication and formal presentation skills, organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously required.Able to travel 60% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends required.Must be 18 years of age or older with valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.Must have authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.Must reside within the US.

Preferred Skills & Therapeutic Area Specific Skills

Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in lupus and/or nephrology is optimal.2+ years’ experience managing a team of field -based Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry employees preferred.Experience navigating an ultra-competitive disease state preferred.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $195,000 - $326,000. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
