Job Description
The Field Service Engineer will conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications. This role requires troubleshooting technical problems, determining solutions, and recommending actions to company or customer representatives. The Field Engineer will also assess product needs and conduct technical training and product briefings with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
ResponsibilitiesPerform depot level repairs, modifications, and refurbishments of specific components of the Modernized Target Designation Sight/Pilotage Night Vision System M-TADS/M-PNVS.Conduct repair, rework, fault isolation, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of mechanical, structural, optical subsystems, and complete systems.Operate automated or general-purpose test equipment, oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, and waveform generators to conduct fault isolation of defective components.Utilize precision measuring equipment to verify compliance with engineering specifications and tolerances.Set up and operate conventional milling machines and drill presses to rework or repair mechanical components.Complete work in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, Repair Center Procedures (RCPs), Field Advisory Bulletins (FABs), and Contractor Installation Procedures (CIPs).Document work in automated maintenance data collection systems as per Apache Fire Control processes and procedures.Provide technical feedback on electro-mechanical and electro-optical components to promote reliability improvements.Work with hazardous materials and chemicals, utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.Perform limited supply duties, including loading/unloading trucks and operating overhead hoists.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.3-5 years of experience in repairs of electro-mechanical and electro-optical assemblies.3-5 years of experience with avionics and electronics principles.3-5 years of experience with CCA component rework and repair.3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and fault isolation of components using general-purpose and/or automated test equipment.3-5 years of experience with interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and test and repair procedures.3-5 years of experience with industrial standards, military specifications, and industry processes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to lift 35 pounds.Ability to adapt to dynamic and frequently changing customer requirements.Ability to understand policies and procedures for the use and control of Government property.Ability to work with hazardous materials.Ability to mix and weigh chemicals.Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of automated and/or general-purpose test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers, and waveform generators used in a depot.Knowledge of fault isolation for electro-mechanical and electro-optical components.Understanding of concepts for hardware installation and industrial and aircraft maintenance safety standards.Military flight-line maintenance experience.Work Environment
The role is based in a depot repair environment, requiring interaction with various technical equipment and adherence to safety standards. The position involves regular engagement with hazardous materials and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.56 - $48.56/hr.
