DESCRIPTION:

As a Field Engineer - Structures/Steel at Tutor Perini Civil, reporting to Director, Structural Steel you will have the opportunity to:

Meet daily with project crews to confirm all materials, equipment, and resources are readily available for the planned construction activities on the schedule

Collects, coordinates, and analyzes shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project

Provides technical input for project work plans and scheduling

Identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule

Evaluates daily production, schedule and budget projections to accurately track project performance

Notifies team members and manager of any significant schedule changes and recommends solutions for management consideration

Provides project quantity input to ensure project financials are accurately reported

Manages cost coding regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities

Reviews and approves daily timecards, assists on-site Office Manager to resolve any pay discrepancies with crews

Reviews project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work completes

Initiates and manages appropriate permits, certificates, inspections, and other documentation regarding construction activities

Conducts required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel

Attends weekly safety meetings with field team and project leadership; presents field analysis as needed

Assists the development of design drawings and provides technical input, as needed

Coordinates subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent

6+ years of experience as an Engineer

Heavy field interface experience

Ability to conduct meetings and present topics to a group

Ability to read and understand drawings

Basic knowledge and understanding of Procure (or equivalent), Blue Beam and HCSS

Proficiency with MS Office (Word/Excel)

Demonstrated aptitude to understand engineering principles

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Supervisory experience preferred
