Job Title: Field Engineer
Job Description
The Field Engineer will work on-site at natural gas compressor station projects. These industrial plants ensure that natural gas remains highly pressurized as it travels through pipelines by using compressor stations powered by turbines, motors, or engines. The Field Engineer will collaborate with various trades, either self-performed or contracted, and will be involved in all disciplines on-site, including civil, mechanical, and electrical work.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and promote a strong safety culture
+ Assist the Project Manager in managing smaller projects
+ Understand terms, conditions, and scope of contracts
+ Track materials, production, and project costs for Project Manager review and approval
+ Assist in facilitating subcontractor activities
+ Maintain project schedules
+ Perform basic estimating, take-offs, and solicitation of quotes
+ Provide onsite administrative support
+ Assist with quality assurance/quality control and test protocols
Essential Skills
+ Construction management
+ Industrial project management software proficiency
+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering with a construction emphasis
+ Internship or 1-5 years of field engineering experience in industrial projects (e.g., manufacturing facility, power plant)
+ Willingness to travel and remain on project sites for extended periods (6-12 months)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong hands-on training program experience
+ Ability to work within a close-knit team environment
+ Opportunity to advance to a Project Manager role after 5+ years
+ Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering with construction experience preferred
+ Desire to work on large-scale, cross-country projects
Work Environment
The Field Engineer will work on major projects, including pipeline cross-country jobs, maintenance, and new facility construction for gas compression and pump stations. Projects are located coast-to-coast, primarily in Wisconsin and the Midwest. The role involves working on-site in job trailers at compressor stations, with project durations ranging from 6 to 12 months. The typical work schedule is 6 days a week, 10 hours a day. New engineers will be partnered with a Project Manager and team for training before managing entire projects independently. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00/hr.
